You may be wondering why there are rubber duckies all over the website or why they were chosen as a mascot. 

Well, that's a story that comes from one of the most famous merchandise losses ever to occur in the ocean.

On January 10th, 1992 during a storm in the North Pacific ocean, twelve 40 foot long steel containers were dumped overboard from a cargo ship full of merchandise. 

Included in this merchandise, were nearly 30,000 plastic childrens bath toys, including plastic duckies, were lost. Because those toys were plastic, they did not disappear, and because they float, they are still showing up in droves throughout the entire world!

Due to the fame of this incident, the vast number of ducks, and of course, their cuteness, they are a perfect mascot for our cause.
